At Wordsley Memorials, we specialise in bespoke memorial design and engraving, creating headstones and memorials that reflect the life and character of your loved one.

You may choose from a wide range of natural stones, shapes, finishes and lettering styles, or commission a completely custom memorial. Our experienced memorial masons can incorporate meaningful details such as religious symbols, personal motifs, artwork, kerbs or vases. All engraving is carried out with care and precision to create a lasting and dignified tribute.
Cleaning & Renovations
Over time, memorials can be affected by weathering, moss, lichen and general wear. The vast majority of memorials can be cleaned and renovated to a very high standard, restoring their appearance while respecting the original stone.
Renovation work is carried out at our workshop and may include professional cleaning, re-dowelling and structural repairs. Once complete, the memorial is re-fixed in the cemetery or churchyard in line with Health and Safety requirements and NAMM standards. Where necessary, a new foundation and ground anchor will be installed to ensure long-term stability.
We provide memorial cleaning and renovation services across Dudley, Stourbridge and the wider West Midlands, and are happy to offer a free, no-obligation quotation. In rare cases, renovation may not be possible due to the poor condition of the material, and we will always advise honestly.
Additional Inscriptions
Wordsley Memorials offers professional additional inscriptions for existing memorials, carefully matching the original lettering style and method wherever possible. Whether the original inscription was cut and gilded, cut and lead, cut and enamel or raised lead, our craftsmen can reproduce it with accuracy and care.
If existing lettering has become very worn, we may recommend re-facing and re-cutting the inscription to restore clarity and appearance. All additional inscription work is undertaken with sensitivity and respect, ensuring new lettering blends seamlessly with the original memorial.

Photo Plaques
Monument portraits serve as touching reminders of the life that was lost to all who visit the graveside of the loved one. They can be added to either marble, granite or bronze grave markers of any shape or size.
Monument portraits have been used on headstones for many years. The process of creating them involves scanning a photograph of the departed onto a computer so that the image can be digitally manipulated.
With a digital image, we can quickly touch up any unwanted blemishes on the image and adjust the colouring of the photograph.
They can also crop images or blow them up to a larger size (although some slight degradation of the image may occur if the image is enlarged).
Some can even add digital effects such as turning a colour photo into a black and white one. Monument portraits are fired at very high temperatures during the printing process (over 900 degress celcius), they are able to endure the extremes of both weather and the environment.
The firing process ensures that the colours will not fade and the finish will not deteriorate.
